My next Level 1 class for AECP was Irresistible Inking Techniques. There were a lot of different ways to use ink and I picked two for this card. I chose to use my ink to watercolor my image and I also then used my extra ink to add to paper to make my background.
I started with the small flower image in the Altenew Sisters of the Heart Bundle. I covered my paper with my anti-static powder. I stamped this with Embossing ink and then added Rose Gold embossing powder and then heat set this. This is such a beautiful color of embossing powder and made a beautiful image.
I then took my ink and put some on my glass work space. I added some water and then using a paint brush, started on my flowers and leaves. I used the lighter colors on the outside edges and went with darker inks toward the middle. I then die cut the image using the die from the bundle.
Once this was done, I saw that I had a bit of ink still on my glass surface, so I sprayed it with water and picked up the ink on two different card panels to use for backgrounds. I love this technique to make backgrounds that match or can be used for later and you are not wasting any ink.
While my panels dried, I stamped the sentiment, the little flower and the leaves on some white cardstock and cut it down. I ended up drawing in a few lines on the flower and leaves to add some definition.
I then went to decide how to assemble my card. I originally had a background in my stash made using some Solar Paste and a stencil, but when I looked at the ones I just made, I decided to go with one of those.
I cut my card base from dark purple at 4 1/4 x 11" and scored at 5 1/2" for a top fold card. I then cut a brighter purple to 4 x 5 1/4" and cut the background I made to 3 3/4" x 5". I put these pieces together. I added foam to my flower image and sentiment and added those to the card. Last, I found some sequins and jewels in my stash and added those. For the sequins, I even added a jewel to each center to cover the hole in the sequin.
I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did when making it. Until next time, keep on crafting.
